Tough break for the Jimmies in the VB scheduling.
The 5 teams they have to face twice this year:
St Cloud, Winona, Concordia, Mankato, Northern
I'll be honest, when I made my wins prediction I assumed it would be schools like Mary, Minot, Bemidji, and Crookston hat they'd get 2 wins against.

Volleyball has been a disaster. The program was selling “national championship or bust”, now they have to sell “hope for .500”Originally posted by MrMustang View PostI think so far it is going as expected for Jamestown, going to take some time. But I think we were all surpised by how they hung with Mankato and it appeared Manakto didn't go easy on them.

It's why I said their loss to Concordia was only the beginning. I was surprised they did as well in the non-con stuff as they did, but the ceiling is three conference wins.Originally posted by Stanger86 View PostTough break for the Jimmies in the VB scheduling.

I know anything is possible, and there is a small chance that Jamestown maybe has some donor that can change the landscape for them…BUT, I don’t see this getting much better for them in any sport. Many people say, “give them time”. And again, that very well may be the case. But all programs have regressed (of course) and none are winning. When you’re at the bottom, many players don’t want to jump on board. And even though some believe it matters more than others do, their size and location won’t do them favors in that regard either.
I think we’re seeing the Jamestown we’re going to see.

I think in the next 10-20 years, we'll continue to see a lot of change in the Division II landscape. More programs from the five-state NSIC area will make the move from NAIA or Division III to Division II. With time, we'll see a lot more conference realignment and possibly some new conference formations.

I would surprised if any GPAC left their cozy conference of private schools. DSU yes, Mayville, Valley City, Morris and others NOOriginally posted by Stanger86 View PostI think in the next 10-20 years, we'll continue to see a lot of change in the Division II landscape. I could see 8-10 years down the road a reformation of the Dakota Athletic Conference, which used to be NAIA, coming back as DII. Black Hills State, SD Mines, Dickinson, Jamestown, Mary, Minot, Dakota State, and perhaps trying to poach another school or two. And wasn't Bismarck going to move up from a juco to a full university?

Yes, they are adding football in the Frontier.Originally posted by Dan Brookens View PostI could see 8-10 years down the road a reformation of the Dakota Athletic Conference, which used to be NAIA, coming back as DII. As has been posted several times above, we will probably have about five years before these superconferences break up. It made no sense for CalFord to be in the ACC. USC is complaining about early start times- well, they didn't have to worry about that before they destroyed the 12 Pac. We needed regional conferences at all levels- teams should be playing everyone in their own conference and still have room for OOC games.

While I wish this would be true, I would be very surprised to see these colleges come to their senses. I believe there is just too much money in the BIG 10 for it to break back apart. I think the only way that really happens is if there is some sort of Super League formed with the top 70 or so football schools. However, that would likely require the SEC and BIG 10 to share some of their revenue with the ACC and BIG 12, which I just don't see happening.Originally posted by laker View Post

I agree, I don’t see these conferences splitting, unless there is a split off of football from the other sports. I wonder how long the Olympic sports will hang on as full NCAA sportsOriginally posted by Thunder View Post
