Nope..I can tell you that is not the correct identify.
fwiw..most of the coaches under 55 read the forum in the past or still do. I’ve joked with them about it in the past and they’ve told me. I can tell you that two head coaches that I know fairly well that are sitting coaches in FCS would regularly ask me about certain posts and so forth. They go as far as asking me who posters were..real identity..to which I told them we weren’t going down that road.
If a coach is barely active on twitter, that’s probably the same coach who doesn’t check out the forum. Some longtime coaches have gone from lurkers on here to now just measuring the pulse of fan feedback via socials.

I’ll say it. Any coach that asks for a message board identity is incredibly insecure. Ridiculous. Appreciate you sharing this.
The main reasons we’ve found that coaches check out the forum is because there are some posters who post news items, schedule info, player info, and such..that could be the first time someone is hearing of the news. A large portion of the D2 landscape isn’t covered much by their local news, often taking a backseat to D1 schools and their coverage. So..the forums here after one of the few places in which D2 football gets talked about. Twitter has certainly changed the game and if you aren’t on there following your school/league, you will seemingly be late on the news if you simply use the forum only.

It comes up from time to time when a poster gets personal with their comments..directing them at a coach with inflammatory statements. Sometimes they’ve been made aware of them from a fan or coach on staff. In any event, we don’t go down that road.

^I say this knowing full well I disagreed with Schlichte’s play calling at times and thought he wasn’t ready. But I’m not going to take personal shots at him! (I know you’re not saying I am, either…ha. Just more context)
I would think this could be a beneficial place for coaches to find info. They’re generally smart enough to weed through the BS 🙂
