Awful.Originally posted by Chuck Norris View PostLost in the shuffle of a Steelers Sunday, the Pitt men lost to Quinnipiac. But, not as bad as the H2P women losing to D3 Scranton.

My goodness. No wonder they won't play Duquesne.

That’s not quite right; twenty people were indicted but “only” 15 of them are former or current college players per ESPN’s report:Originally posted by Fightingscot82 View PostFeds have indicted 20 former college basketball players (including from Duquesne and LaSalle) for conspiracy to fix games in connection to the NBA gambling ring.
Fifteen of the defendants played college basketball during the 2023-24 and/or 2024-25 seasons, according to the indictment. Two of the players named in the indictment, Cedquavious Hunter and Dyquavian Short, were sanctioned in November by the NCAA for fixing New Orleans games.
Four of the players charged -- Simeon Cottle, Carlos Hart, Camian Shell and Oumar Koureissi -- have played for their current teams in the past week. It’s still a major indictment and there are a lot of schools involved including another one here in PA, Robert Morris. The other five defendants were described by authorities as fixers. At least two of the defendants, Shane Hennen and Marves Fairley, were also charged in a federal indictment in the Eastern District of New York centered on gambling schemes in the NBA.“No matter how badly things get blown apart, we will always plant flowers again.”

Miami Ohio remains one of the better stories of the D1 season, sitting at 23-0. They’ve only just recently cracked the top 25 in part due to a less than stellar non conference schedule. Interesting to note that the closest game of said non conference schedule came in a five point home win over Mercyhurst. And in case you’re curious, the Lakers presently sit at 11-12 overall and 6-4 in NEC play.

That's good for them. The school is desperately trying to build a new arena but when you're inside a 2 square mile town, they tend to not like something like that being built at one of the major intersections. I do wonder if the students have noticed yet - hockey is the #1 sport there.Originally posted by Chuck Norris View PostMiami Ohio remains one of the better stories of the D1 season, sitting at 23-0. Have you seen the Angelo Dome in person? It's basically the entire campus.Originally posted by Fightingscot82 View Post

Yes - even attended an event there. Miserable experience. Oxford, OH is a really cool place - but imagine sticking a 20,000 student university inside Zelienople without being adjacent to the highway. Oxford's a good 20 minute drive from I-70 and 20 minutes in the other direction to an area resembling suburbia. Beautiful campus. Fun little town. Surrounded by farms.Originally posted by IUPbigINDIANS View Post

They are completely irrelevant. The Stallings team that went winless in the ACC was so bad you at least felt compelled to occasionally discuss what was happening. There’s nothing about this program right now that even makes for semi interesting conversation. They just exist. They’re basically what they were before Ben Howland was hired.Originally posted by IUPbigINDIANS View PostCapel can't actually survive this season ...
They've reached trash level.
