Once Again...the Star in Frisco, they have the indoor stadium, the Omni Hotel is on the property, about 30 minutes from DFW (depending upon the time of day) and a bunch of places to eat and drink on the property...hold 12K fans...Frisco is very sports friendly :) They have the Dallas Cowboys, FC Dallas and the PGA Head Quarters is moving from Florida to Frisco...the Texas Rangers AAA affiliate plays in Frisco, and the Dallas Stars practice facility is also in Frisco...couple of other Fringe Sports (D2 is not Fringe), the are home of the Texas Revolution (Arena Football) and some lower level Basketball thing...not a BB fan, so don't know to much about them other than they are in Frisco (or at least used to be).
Additionally, lots of possibilities for cooperate sponsor ships (the actual building is called "The Ford Center", after the vehicle manufacturer). There are Whataburger adverts all over the place...Tostitos is a big player, Nike...Everything is Bigger in Texas :)

Under the current system, they will need to apply for the contract. It could be a PERFECT location but if they don't apply, NCAA will not consider them.

Hardly a perfect location for most fans. Most fans drive to the game. If it takes more than a day to get there and that cuts out a lot of the fan bases. So pretty much anywhere in TX is suspect in that regard. And weather (travel) can also be an issue. Dallas does get nasty weather.

GIven the size of the US, and the distribution of D2 schools, there is no place in the US where everybody can drive in less than 10 hours.
Roar Lions, Charge On Chargers, Roll Tide Roll!!!!!

The Rangers affiliate in Frisco is actually AA (their AAA team, at least until the end of this season, is Round Rock) and the "lower level basketball" is actually the Mavs' G-League minor league team, the Texas Legends, which plays at Dr. Pepper Arena, which is (1) where the 2016 D2 Men's Elite Eight took place and (2) is where the Stars' practice facility is located.

Considering how strict the NCAA is about corporate sponsorships, I don't see how that will be a big impact.
Never said it was, but for me and many others, better than Texas or FLA
If you live west of the Mississippi and north of Missouri/Oklahoma, Frisco Texas is at least an hour closer to you than Florence.
Edit: Also we have 2 international airports within 40 minutes in DFW and Love Field. If you can fly Southwest, Frontier, or Spirit from your closest airport you can probably fly cheaper than driving even with one week notice.
Nashville is going to be building a MLS soccer stadium soon, not in time for 2019 I believe, but man that would be a pretty good location for future games if someone really wanted to make it happen.
The really truly ideal solution for the game would be if some crazy rich alumni from some college in between Indianapolis, Louisville, Nashville, Memphis, and St. Louis was to go out and fund his school in building an indoor football stadium that sits around 20,000 or so. Something akin to the Alerus Center in Grand Forks. That would be a great place that would be fairly drivable for most of D2, an indoor location for the game, and in a not too huge of a stadium that a 5,000 crowd would be really lost in it. Alast, it would probably never get built.
Really hoping that the NCAA really sticks it to Sporting KC for bailing out of the contract on such short notice and they pay the cost to host somewhere else this year, and maybe next year as well. That would help to sweeten the pot a little for anyone else who wants to host.
