  • Today is GIVING TUESDAY at IUP.

Tort has an expensive recruiting season upcoming.

Hopefully next year the ROI is a bit better.

Will stop commenting or debating on the Cal U block punt, at least for 2021.

Surprised to read "Other areas of need include cornerback, linebacker, defensive line and wide receiver". That's pretty much the entire defense. What, the coaching staff do not want to continue developing the young players they currently have?
They may be better off at LB then first glance. Kelly most likely going to grad school which equals 1 more season and a surprise nugget YSU transfer may have another year after extended staff research from his YSU Career.

If they get Newell back that will be massive. He was outstanding down the stretch. The change in his play from the first couple games to the last -- once he was just playing and not thinking -- was incredible to watch.

            • Grad transfers cannot be blocked. Leiby will be a grad transfer. Open season.

              • First bidding war of the season. IUP and SRU have both offered Lackawanna OL Addison Darcy (6'5", 310 lbs).

Very interesting one man's opinion in the linked "editorial".

                    • The downside (for some) is this is going to become the new normal. Go to Clarion or Lock Haven for a year or two, improve your stock and get the hell out of there. The bottom half of the league becomes a farm system of sorts.

Due to the Covid chaos regarding high school recruits (lack of them getting spots) ... the lesser teams should be able to steal a couple guys here and there that otherwise the big teams would have swiped up. So, Timmy Linebacker decides to join the 2022 All-Freshmen team at Clarion next Fall, play one year and then head over to SRU.

                          • IUP third in the Dixon standings.

Edinboro first despite a bad foosball team. I guess they got extra points for beating IUP.

Just goes to show that trophy is about mastering the smaller sports.

We'll get a big push in men's and women's basketball and women's swimming.

                              Then, unfortunately, baseball season arrives.

                              • Back to football ... any word leaking on Logan Leiby?

We know IUP contacted him. Has an actual offer been made?

There are a couple WPIAL kids I'm shocked IUP isn't chasing (Cal and SRU have offered many of them).
