Joel Osborn.....he's 35-11 after taking over Benedictine and 9-2 this year heading into the playoffs after winning three conference championships in a row. Even though Benedictine is NAIA we all know he has coached and played Division 2 football at a very high level & from what I have heard a top notch recruiter. Go get him!

I could see a scenario where AD and RW unite as HC and DC at a D1 school somewhere. I doubt we will see either of them on the D2 level again as both are too good to stay on this level forever. My guess is both already have new jobs lined up and are waiting for the football season to end to announce the shift. I would be unsurprised if AD had an announcement returning to D1 and immediately announces RW as his DC. RW could be a great HC if he figured out how to get more out of his other coaches on the offensive front. I just wished he would have figured it out at NW cause he always seemed like the right guy.

my guess is rw is in wburg or edmond as dc next yr & will do very well as long as somebody else is getting him talent.
as for his tenure here, he chose to go down with the ship keeping dead weight on that offensive staff well beyond their exp date & never went out & found a recruiter (b/c he clearly wasn't doing it).
as for us i hope we cast a wide net & perform a true national search like pitt did before hiring bw.Go Bearcats!

I seriously doubt he would be willing to take ~30-50k pay cut just to help out an old friend. He either takes some time off, or gets hired as an analyst or quality control coach or position coach at FBS school, or D-coordinator at an FCS school.Originally posted by northwest missouri state View Postmy guess is rw is in wburg or edmond as dc next yr & will do very well as long as somebody else is getting him talent.

You're acting like someone who was probably earning close to 150/yr is suddenly starving and needing a way to feed his wife and adult children. He has been coaching for 33 years which in the public sector, likely means he could retire with a pretty decent monthly income...as much as what a coordinator salary at rival school would pay, without having to put any any effort.Originally posted by Greenman View Post

that's an interesting way to put it. dude's unemployed & needs a job. obv i agree if there's another opp to earn what he just did he'll take it. i'd be surprised if he took time off.Originally posted by GorillaTeacher View Post

beyond that no doubt options drive it just like they do for the rest of us.
he just failed but is also a great defensive coach so it will be interesting to watch.Go Bearcats!

that's fair, i can't relate to that perspective...but if he's not coaching next season, how long can he be out before his stock drops even more?Originally posted by GorillaTeacher View Post

Why does he need a job? Retirement is definitely an option. Mid to late fifties in age, likely qualifies for the rule of 80 in Missouri.Originally posted by northwest missouri state View Post

His salary would be the average of his 3 highest consecutive years including health premiums. No SSR, but I'm sure he has a 403b retirement plan. He very likely does not 'need' a job.

Beck was an analyst and quality control coach for a couple years before getting hired as NMSU's OC, and is now OC at an SEC school that is bowl eligible for the first time in 6 years. He didn't 'need' the money either, so waited for what was right for him.
I don't know if RW has the FBS contacts Beck had coming from the Franchione tree..

"Jim Svoboda back" as what (OC)? His best year as the UCM head coach was 2010 when he won two playoff games, and oh by the way, all those guys were recruited by coach Fritz. After that, the team never lived up to all the Jim Svoboda hype. I'm guessing you just threw that out there for fun. If the current OC (Bane) leaves, no big deal, hell everybody is running that offense now. UCM needs better defensive coaches and recruiters.Originally posted by Mule4ever View PostJim Svoboda backLast edited by Kiss My Ass; 11-20-2024, 12:51 PM.
