I'm sorry, does the Mankato administration have absolute authority in the NSIC now? This is a conference leadership move that failed us. Not one schools administration, and I don't have any details as far as how MSU admins felt about SCSU being allowed to drop football.

My hope is they voiced their opinion that they shouldn't be allowed to, but if they didn't I will admit that disappoints me.

My post was about St. Cloud and yet you somehow brought it back to SMSU. Cheers
Just searching through the forest of terrible takes that you put out as a reason to bring Jamestown in, and found the flashing neon sign that states the real reason.

St. Cloud -- who knows, zero leadership there.
So Mnscu says no, but they don't even have a majority of votes to make that decision. There are only 6 schools in the NSIC that are MNSCU. Seems unlikely that the 6 MNSCU schools can sway the other 10 schools.

And I agree, both should have been kicked out with no football
Curious as to why Mankato would care about Cloud at all?

From my perspective, the NSIC bent the knee to SCSU and UMC by changing the rules for them. I doubt MSU orchestrated that at all...

I wonder if there are any meeting minutes that we can find when they talked about/voted on this topic

That would be a blast to read. They probably don't make it very public though for obvious reasons.

well they could have spoken up instead of sitting there on their hands.

you seem to think SMSU wanting them in is somehow worse than Mankato not having the balls to say what they really thought... or perhaps your school Mankato was also fully on board - thus your compliant is with your own school Mankato instead of SMSU etc.

because they are tied at the hip because of the NCC, rivalry and MnSCU - nothing was stopping Mankato from voting no except their own cowardice

And how do you know that MSU administration "just sat on their hands?"

Swing and a miss on all three.

The rivalry is as dead as the NCC is, and half of this thread is just accusing Mankato of not caring about the rest of MnSCU - so none of those make any lick of sense.

I know MSU wants into the NCHC so maybe they feel it's in their best interest to stay on Cloud's good side? At least that's relevant to the last 20 years - if you need a devil's advocate.

As I've stated before, I have no insights to how the Mankato administration truly felt. I hope they voiced an opinion of not wanting/needing them but if they did not then that is a great deal of disappointment. That is why transcripts from the vote for their admission and that of the football being required bylaw would be very eye-opening as to who is pushing for these soft decisions to be made.

I can't say I have made accusations against the SMSU administration, but I definitely have against SMSU fans that seem to be the only people happy they are here.

And the truth comes out....the Mankatos of the world want nothing more than to kick out the SMSUs of the world because "no one wants them here". Just as I have predicted for years....this should be a red flag warning to all administrators and donors at Southwest, Wayne, Bemidji, and anyone else that doesn't meet Mankato's town population or enrollment standards.
