I think the MSHSL need to go to what North Dakota does. For boys sports, they only count the male population at a school, for girls sports, they only count the female population.Originally posted by CollegeFBGuy View Post
The St Thomas one was ridiculous though, since their enrollment was only boys, so it was basically half of what schools would be with boys and girls.
I have heard that the next classification cycle in MN (two years) will be going to a five year average enrollment rather than current enrollment. With the way enrollment ebbs and flows, probably a better way to do it. Also, the schools will supposedly know they classification sooner in the process.Millsy

How is Minneapolis HS, Single A in Boys Hockey? Skill wise - yes but should be AAAA in reality.Originally posted by Millsy View Post

Probably some rule for co-op programs? Kinda hard to combine that many schools and still compete.Originally posted by debergfan View Post

I don't know the rules that well - I just do my civic duty and root against Edina every year and hope Luverne is good enough to go to State.

I cheer for Section 1, outside of the Lakeville. No offense to them but they arren't a true Section 1 team in my opinion. Section 1 usually doesn't do to well so I end up rooting for the northern schools. Ive been on the wait list for season AA passes for 15 years now and am hoping to get tickets one of these years.Originally posted by SW_Mustang View Post

The QB will be the one to watch.....originally a UND commit. I don't think he jumps back up that high, but could try to go to a more traditional NSIC power. Not sure why, but BSU was the first place I thought of.Originally posted by debergfan View PostI'd be shocked if Jamestown can keep the two colorado kids or qb.
HS teammates with SMSU's Parker Knutson, so hopefully they don't become a package deal somewhere....

Section 3A doesn't have much to root for haha - part of the problem we have is that the top talent all goes to play AAA - or moves to the suburbs.Originally posted by WSUWarriorFan View Post

Looked like Marshall was primed to build something, then Luverne - but neither have done a whole lot on a state level.
Ironically I'm sure I'll see Fairmont's Carsen Musser tonight though... darn Tommies.

I think there is a good chance, Jamestown loses the majority of their better players. Losing by 20 on a regular basis is difficult plus you’re not from ND, hard to say no when your social media gets random coaches following you. My opinion.Originally posted by SW_Mustang View Post

Yeah, I think both UJ and SMSU are going to get hammered with departures this year.Originally posted by debergfan View PostI think there is a good chance, Jamestown loses the majority of their better players. You might be right but, using that logic, the good players would always leave teams that don’t win much. Has way more to do with relationships. Jamestown’s coach seems like a good guy and their new OC threw some interesting stuff out there today (a lot of which worked). “In my opinion” you should just say they competed better than you expected:). And the kid they pulled from UND has some real potential

The QB is slippery and pretty good, but I am pretty certain that he was a walk on at UND.Originally posted by Stanger86 View Post

I’m curious to see the movement for each team, I still think Jamestown can wow sone guys with facilities and playing time. They will sell the “it was our first year and look how close and respectable we were. With guys like you, we can get over the hump”

I don't disagree with you - I do think the Jimmies played better than I'd expected they would have prior to this season, and transfer decisions are more than just wins and losses - but it seems like transfer outs always happen en masse after a bad season.Originally posted by Tommy Kramer fan View PostYou might be right but, using that logic, the good players would always leave teams that don’t win much.
