I was surprised the Scarlets hung with Delano for that long. 3A has never won a game at the X, though Lou Verne has won a couple over at Mariucci.

Marshall was there 13 years ago. You'd think spending all that money on a barn would have helped but they've been quite terrible ever since.

Fun 3A hockey fact(s): Terry Steinbach was (is?) New Ulm's career goals leader. New Ulm also has the only NHL draft pick in 3A - Jamie Hoffman, who would choose the MLB instead.

After a scoreless first period in the late game last night, Warroad eventually wore down Northern Lakes in route to a 5-0 victory.

Gotta say, this tournament is more fun to watch for me this year than others. My son played on the 2024-25 14U USA Hockey National Champions team, the Blue Ox, with kids that are playing for Warroad and Moorhead.

AA Game one was a yawner, Minnetonka 5, Gentry 0. Shots were something like 51-12.

Has to be tough for the night game losers to have to turn around play at noon the next day. Lose that game and your tournament is over in under 18 hours.

AA game two made up for game one. Rosemount took down Grand Rapids 3-2 in OT. Rosemount scored late in the third to make it 2-1, but Grand Rapids pulls the goalie and gets one in the last minute to tie it. Rosemount gets the game winner about half way through OT.

Moorhead 4, Lakeville South 1. Took the Spuds a while to get going, but they pulled away in the third.

Edina was up 3-0 after one and holds on for a 3-1 lead. Andover scored in the 2nd along with another disallowed and two hit posts. Looked like it going go be a 10-0 for a while.

Edina rode a natural hat trick in the first to victory. Man, if that second goal for Andover would have counted, the game would have been a lot more exciting. But, it turned into a snoozer, literally, at least for me.

Moorhead 3, Edina 1. Tied at 0 going into the third, Moorhead got three on the board before the Hornets scored one late.
