Bowie can't rebound and IUP can't quit turning it over.

Tom needed to call a timeout much faster. That crowd has them rattled.

Took a look at this Bowie State team Tom is playing tonight for the regional final ... pretty interesting group.

They enter the game tonight with a 22-9 record and have won 8 of their past 9 games.

IUP beat them in Bowie in a pure slop-fest early in the season, 53-37. Two weeks later IUP won in the KCAC, 61-54. Both very low-scoring games. They have a lot of experience with 6 seniors and a couple juniors.

For the entire season, Bowie is scoring 65 ppg but giving up just 58 ppg. They force 21 turnovers per game. That's a big number for a season average. They shoot a good bit of treys but don't make a whole lot (29%).

In both meetings IUP shot very poorly from deep (23% and 27%) which fits the heavy defensive pressure Bowie puts out.

It looks like they had one bad stretch this year when the lost 5 of 7 games.

This won't be an easy one. Hopefully Carolyn's hamstring is better. You sure couldn't tell it was injured in her 34-minute performance against Glenville. Tom said in the paper they weren't even sure how much she was going to play before tip-off.

Joe thought the kiski program was a better option for Dante - even with a team in Indiana that was state champ contenders . He may not think much of the Indiana program

Four? That's too many. Alabama outscored Minnesota with only three players on the court earlier this year.

Not sure about his academics but I have to 'assume' they are fine being that UPJ and Wheeling Jesuit were hot after him. UPJ has at least the same (likely tougher) admissions as IUP.

It's one thing if a Clarion type comes in and takes one. It's a little odd to see a major program on par with IUP come in and take one. Who knows. Sometimes taking local kids comes with some unwanted issues. Maybe he made it clear he wanted to leave town. Never know ... maybe he ends up back here in a year or two. WJ is a great program with a very good coach.

The Kiski Prep thing ... not sure. He played on a real loaded team there and that's a tough league (lots of 'fifth' year seniors, etc.). I always wondered how good that IHS team would have been with what they had plus Dante added.

The transfer wire will start going crazy this week across all levels. 'Tis the season.

Very interesting. From what I'm told, IUP did not offer.
