Other than that, I agree. Do a search. Get someone dynamic who relates to players, and is hungry. Someone with lots of stops and promotions at different levels. Someone with contacts spread out all over college football.
NEVER MIND. What I meant was that NW should double down on the crazy. They should become more insular and only hire people who lived their entire lives within 25 minutes of campus, have only attended or coached for NW or the spoofhounds, and have never been on non football related vacation outside the state of Missouri. Bonus points for mean drunks, and coaches players are known to hate.

In reviewing the attendance the for the home opener and last year, in general ---- very disappointing. It appears that the east side (student side) is really what's lagging. Are student numbers down everywhere across D2 for football attendance? I wonder if other weekend options, ways to watch a game, etc. are causing D2 student attendance at football games to be down across the board for students, or the slide of the NW program no longer being on a championship level has caused the decline?
Would like to hear the thoughts of townies/those working at NWMSU that are closer to this issue

There was a bit where the students could get free tickets, staff could get discounted student-side tickets, and then a time where I believe groups of student tickets were being bought up and “given” to students during playoff runs.
If I recall, last year they were resorting to halftime giveaways to try to get students to turn out.
The current student body has never experienced undefeated regular seasons or the fun of a home playoff run in the Fall (or come to think of it, the joy of taking down the goalposts following a semifinal win). The kids just aren’t as invested anymore and have other things to do - jobs, classes - plus the mobility to head home over the weekend, which is often more compelling than watching the team struggle and lose.
Streaming options I think have impacted home side seat sales - it’s actually been cheaper and less hassle to get a streaming season pass and watch games that way than come to the games… and easier to turn off than to see how far things have fallen.Last edited by lleachieshusband; 09-09-2024, 12:17 PM.

Pred the second part of your post was hilarious. Great stuff.
Ok Lambo a couple things. Yea he's been poor without ZZ but he got ZZ there and put weapons around him. His stop at UNK was a learning experience and he learned what not to do as much as what to do. The other issue for Lsmbo going back to Maryville, other than his wife, is $. Don't forget UCM did something very smart and signed him to a big long term contract in the spring. That probably makes him untouchable for all D2 school not named Grand Valley.
His next step is probably a FCS head coach gig or analyst at a big power 5 school.
Lock Haven has a young hungry coach who would love to get out of SR1.
I'm sure somewhere out there is an OC at San Diego or Youngstown State who would like the HC opportunity at a proven winner but the rebuild opportunity to do it in his image.
Or Mike Norvell or Marcus Feeeman. 😁

The OL and OC hires have significantly contributed to the downfall of the program and indicative that HC RW was promoted above his level of ability.
I’m very successful in my current position as Branch Chief and can retire in about 5 years. I have been repeatedly encouraged by supervisors to apply for Division Chief positions, where I personally know I’d only do an average job.
Moral of the story…Sometimes it’s best to know your role at work and stick to what you do best.Last edited by GoCatsGo5; 09-09-2024, 04:04 PM.
