There has been no announcement. This thread has had #619 posts debating the merits of their inclusion in the NSIC. There is also many pages off topic senseless banter. Darn it! Any second, its a done deal, just waiting for somebody to proofread the press release, the NSIC investigative committee loved it, two day party in Jimmy Land, who wouldn't! #JimmyPride #ChopAndCarryOriginally posted by Peacockfan View PostWhen do they plan on announcing Jamestown has been accepted to the NSIC?

I hope the NSIC has some sense when scheduling then next year, would hate to see something like:
BSU vs Jamestown
Minot vs BSU
BSU vs Mary
BSU vs Southwest
CSP vs BSU
SF vs BSU
BSU vs NSU
Mankato vs BSU
BSU vs Moorhead
Winona vs BSU
BSU vs UMD
With a schedule like that, BSU could only lose one game and get into the playoffs.

That would be a similar schedule to many that Duluth had during the 2010s when they were part of the extremely soft north division of that era. During that time Duluth was the only strong program in the north. They would only have a couple of challenging south games per season on their schedule which pretty much made them a shoe-in for the playoffs every year.Originally posted by BulldogFan View PostI hope the NSIC has some sense when scheduling then next year, would hate to see something like:

I guess the new norm then will be no more than one loss in the silo schedule otherwise playoffs chances are up to chance and hoping your opponents don't lay an egg during the season.Originally posted by Tundra_Man View Post

Actually, more like it's back to the old norm. The "new" norm of teams losing a couple of games and still making the playoffs has only been around for the last few seasons.Originally posted by BulldogFan View Post

In 2014 USF went 10-1 and didn't get into the playoffs, even though their only loss was to Mankato who went to the NC that year.

Back to the old norm would in essence be the new norm since the norm had shifted :-)
Either way CWU in the playoffs after losing to a NAIA team and getting destroyed by UTPB is tough. Understand they technically are a one loss team in D2 so that UTPB game meant absolutely nothing to their playoff lock.

And a team got in over USF that, gasp, played one less game! 9-1 HardingOriginally posted by Tundra_Man View Post

I do agree that not counting NAIA/D3 losses against teams is a little ridiculous. I can understand not counting FCS losses should a team choose to play up.Originally posted by BulldogFan View PostBack to the old norm would in essence be the new norm since the norm had shifted :-)

I hear what you're saying, but actually St. Cloud was strong in those days too. They made the playoffs 3-out-of-4 years in the early 2010s. There were years where the NSIC's only two playoffs teams were from the North, or 2 of the 3 the NSIC got in were North teams.Originally posted by Tundra_Man View Post

Agreed though, after those two, the rest of the North was garbage. and after SCSU lost Klaphake, they were a 6-5 team year after year.
