I see no one is predicting the unthinkable this weekend: that NW plays as bad as they did at FH and loses to Lincoln at home. Anyone else think it’s possible?

Not at all. I’m just hoping that we haven’t sunk to that level. I do think we’re a pick-6 and a blown coverage away from being down 14 to them early. We come in flat as well, and it could easily be us down 14 or 17 in the first qtr.

From the little I've watched of Lincoln, they run the ball a little better than they have for a while, but are as bad on D and in the passing game as ever.

What is the staff supposed to say to alums? The guys we recruited suck? The guys haven't developed as planned? With the portal if those guys heard negative feedback almost every one of them would have hit the portal. Unless you are Deion, you can't publicly criticize these kids. Most of them are snowflakes anyway and now the portal gives them the opportunity to go somewhere and be loved.

the regular media guys that cover the program need to defend it in order to maintain friendly relations imo.

if they literally scold or start to build strawmen i just turn them off.

To be fair there was a lot of people pleading for OC Sturdy to be let go. I think once that wasn’t done and the offense/QB play continued same trajectory and the defense finally wasn’t elite, it was inevitable to move up the food chain….But don’t worry if the state of other programs at NW are any indication Andy Peterson will not be letting anyone go (cough* Baseball cough*)

Saw somewhere it was November of 2003 last time out of the top 25.
