You keep saying that it was Paterno that clinged onto his job. That was not the case. He stayed on because of encouragement from the University, the alumni, and former players. It was in the early 2000's, as you mention, that some former players came in to rescue him. Was it Smith, Terry Smith?, the former Gateway HS coach joined the staff? A lot of the former players created a movement to bring it back and it worked as PSU rose back to a conference leader.

In the later years, Paterno made many comments about how the powers that be wanted him to stay on. Oh, he didn't object. But the idea of becoming the all-time winningest college football coach was huge. It superseded everything.

And, he died. Rather than going to jail.

He was a figure-head at the end. Nobody knows what really happened there. Dirt had top of dirt there at the end of Joe Pa's creepy run.

They won. What price did they pay to win? Well, ... hard to say. Remember, knowbody knew anything. Wink wink wink wink wink.

Sounds like it does matter - especially if one of the teams doesn't have an established rushing attack.

MIGHT have Covid issues. We don't know which team has them.

Both teams throw the ball well. Iup has the edge on the run game, But sun or rain both teams need to show up ready to play.

Joking aside, does anybody actually know the testing procedure? Does the whole program get tested weekly? Does a random 20% get tested weekly?
