Great character kid, too. He'll be around for the duration.

IUP also landed Cedar Crest QB Logan Horn. Good athlete; brother is playing in FCS.

Wonder if the offer to the IHS kid is now pulled. They offer many QBs. Usually first one to take the deal gets the spot.

They may be getting a hometown discount on the Indiana kid. He could live at home and maybe he is not getting a lot of program money. Hard to say. The whole setup might just be a win/win for IUP and the IHS kid and his family.

I was doing some reading in the archives from 1984 on IUP football and was surprised to see more than one instance of them being referred to as the Braves. Does anyone remember them being called the Braves?

And as IUPNation always says----those helmets that IUP wore in the mid-1980s with the mounted Indian Warrior with a raised spear are a thing of beauty. Too bad they could not have stayed with them. That's a darn fine looking helmet there!

Not necessarily. I just remember the IUP 2015 Recruiting Class:

            https://iupathletics.com/news/2015/2...204155650.aspx

As you can see, in addition to bringing in Temple transfer Lenny Williams during the summer, they signed 3 QBs in Andre Dreuitt-Parks (Imohtep Charter), Dan Fisher (Penncrest) and Mike Pietropola (Wellsboro).

At least one of those latter three at least became a pretty good safety.

Here's another from central PA they offered: Central Dauphin's Noah Hoffman.

Hoffman is now Twitter official. Committed.

Workable QB for a power program in the Mid-Penn. CD had a monster fullback they leaned on heavily. Have to see if Hoffman rises to next level. I'd be a bit higher on Horn.

But I still think Yahmir Wilkerson has a higher upside than either.

Are you saying he committed to IUP? Because as of now I don't see anything from his Twitter account stating such:

                      https://twitter.com/NoahHoffman25

I see a tweet of him announcing the 2nd offer from IUP, but so far that is it.

                        Correct... I don't see a committed either.

My mistake. It was Horn I saw.

No apologies needed. IUP offered quite a few QBs, hard to keep up with them. My eyes are on Kyle Sheets though !!!!

It is funny how Twitter has changed D2 recruiting. Remember not long ago you wouldn't hear a peep until signing day.

I think in those days the schools wanted to keep it a big secret as to who they offered.

In basketball you wouldn't know half the time until they posted the roster the following year.
