I've had some discussions the past week with some folks, and yes, I believe there has been talks between the MIAA and WSC. And I also at the same time believe that at this time, WSC has no interest in joining that league. Sure, things can change, but at this point and time, the NSIC is a much better fit for Wildcat athletics.

Also possible that the splintering has already begun. And instead of just not having a plan for it like happened with the NCC, the NSIC is being proactive about keeping its membership up at a stable level.Originally posted by Brandon View Post
It's possible that the addition of those schools could cause the league to splinter.

Well, I used to have blonde hair back in the day, before the gold turned to silver. I had to debase my currency.

I've asked around, gotten no answers back yet. I think Dakota St can go to D2 but Mayville and Valley City are doubtful. Since Bellevue doesn't have football I haven't checked into where they might go. They are in GPAC country but do they want them?Originally posted by zimmy21 View PostHearing very little about the cast off NSAA schools so far. There were talks of a merger with the Montana Schools, but it seems Dickinson is the only school that's heading there.

The one thing that interests me about DSU is their ability to fundraise. That won't translate to athletic success in the short term (and I doubt it will make them drastically more competitive 5-10 years out), but it really is an interesting thing to watch.
Not saying that aspect is satisfactory to join the NSIC*, but it's something the rest of the NSAA (and even GPAC) doesn't have.
*Hypothetically speaking, of course. In reality, having a pulse seems to be the biggest entry requirement.
