Carson-Newman head coach Ashley Ingram has been confirmed as the new head coach at FCS Virginia Military Institute. Ingram, formerly a long-time assitant at the Naval Academy, has been the head coach of the Eagles for the past two seasons. He compiled an overall record of 16-6. His 2024 team made it to the SAC championship game and earned a playoff spot in the NCAA tournament. Carson-Newman has confirmed that a search for a new head coach is already has already begun.
