D2Football.com Players of the Week

D2Football.com is pleased to announce the players of the week for week nine of the 2025 season.

Offense

Curtis Allen, RB, Virginia Union

Curtis Allen earned his second D2Football.com offensive player of the week honor of 2025 following a record setting performance. The senior from Petersburg, Virginia established a new program record for rushing yards in a single game with 369 yards in a win at Bluefield State. Allen needed just 26 carries to set the new record, averaging 14.2 yards per touch. He scored five touchdowns on the night, pushing his season total to 25. He leads Division II in rushing with 1947 total yards and 216 yards per game. His total rushing yards leads all NCAA players as of games played through Nov. 1

Defense

Sam Weihrauch, LB, Findlay

Sam Weihrauch was a key component in a Findlay defense that kept Northwood’s offense out of synch for the most of the day in last week’s Top 25 matchup. He finished the day with eight total tackles, 3 tackles for loss and 3 sacks for loss of 14 yards. He was also responsible for a forced fumble and fumble recovery. Weihrauch led an Oilers defense that limited Northwood to 30 rushing yards. Sam Weihrauch is a senior from Findlay, Ohio. He played high school football at Findlay High, which shares Donnell Stadium with the Oilers.

Special Teams

Osman Fanny, DB, Frostburg State

Osman Fanny made major contributions on two different special teams units. As a return specialist, he returned a kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown to provide the Bobcats’ first points of the day. Late in the second quarter he blocked a  California punt that was returned 23 yards for a touchdown by a teammate. Fanny’s special teams plays helped keep Frostburg State locked in a tight battle in a non-conference game at California. Osman Fanny is a redshirt freshman from Gaithersburg, Maryland.
