Edinboro, Pa. – Head football coach Jake Nulph has stepped down as the leader of the football program to assume the role of Athletic Director at Kiski Area High School in Leechburg, Pa.
"Jake has been a strong leader and tireless worker for not only the football program, but for the athletic department," said Director of Athletics Dr. Katherine Robbins. "What he has done for our program and our student-athletes under incredibly challenging circumstances has been truly remarkable. He will be missed, but we know he will excel in his new position and continue to be a change maker."
Nulph took over Fighting Scot football in 2020-21 and guided the program through the pandemic season that did not see the team compete in any games. Under Nulph, the Scots have scored a pair wins over Top 25 teams and a win over FCS Robert Morris earlier this season. His overall record in four seasons was 15-28.
The Scots had 18 All-PSAC West selections including punter Reed Martin earning All-PSAC West honors four times. Martin was also an AFCA First-Team All-American punter in 2022. In 2024, Wilfredo Diaz was first team D2CCA First-Team All-Region. He led the country across all divisions in tackles averaging 13.3 tackles per contest.
"It's hard to put into words how much these past five years have meant to me and my family. I would first like to thank Dr. Katherine Robbins for her leadership and belief in my vision for Edinboro football. Dr. Jon Anderson for his leadership and vision of PennWest University. The future of both is in great hands. I want to thank the coaches, players, support staff, and athletic trainers who have made my experience very special. I also want to thank the Edinboro athletic department and all the wonderful people who have made my time as a Fighting Scot very memorable. Finally, I want to thank the Edinboro football alumni for all their passion and pride in the program. As my family and I begin a new journey at Kiski-Area, we will never forget our time at Edinboro. Thank you and GO BORO!"
A national search will be conducted to fill the head coaching position, and all interested applicants can apply here starting Tuesday Dec. 10.
