From the Founder's Desk: Brandon Misener's All-Quarter Century Team

As we approach the start of a new season - our 26th full season over coverage - D2Football.com founder Brandon Misener began to reminisce on some of the most impactful players and coaches he has observed since launching the website in 2000. Over the summer, Brandon put pen to paper and compiled his own All-Quarter Century Team, a comprehensive list of the most accomplished players who participated in D2 football between the years of 2000 and 2025.  The criteria used for player selection was a combination of talent evaluation along with D2 Football accomplishments. The offense is led by Cullen Finnerty, who led Grand Valley to 3 national titles and a 51-4 record during his tenure.  The defense is led by standout Lenior Rhyne defender Kyle Dugger, who won the Cliff Harris Award for top defensive player in the small-school ranks, while having played in the NFL from the year 2020 to current.  The Head Coach of the All-Quarter Century Team is Tony Annese of Ferris State.  Coach Annese is a 4-time National Champion with the Bulldogs and has amassed a remarkable 153-21 record during his 13 seasons in Division II.
