WORCESTER, Mass. – Jay Kastantin led the way with five first-half touchdowns, as the Assumption University football team routed Southern Connecticut State University, 38-7, on Senior Day, in Northeast 10 Conference action, Saturday afternoon at Brian Kelly '83 Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Assumption started fast, as Jay Kastantin scored on a four-yard option run for a touchdown on the game's opening drive. Kastantin capped off the first quarter with a one-yard scamper, making it 14-0 after 15 minutes. The Greyhounds continued to add to their lead, as the 'Hounds signal caller ran one in from 19 yards out, pushing the hosts' advantage to 21-0. Kastantin continued to rack up the first-half stats, as he added two passing touchdowns to his stat line, with a 19-yard pass to Matt Raeke and a 17-yard pass to Jake McAleavey, all before halftime.
In the second half, Massimo Sgambati connected from 28 yards out, extending the lead to 38-0. Southern Connecticut would eventually break through in the fourth quarter, as Brandon Jorgensen connected with Divine Edwards from nine yards out, making it 38-7. The Greyhounds would drain the clock and would finish off a 38-7 senior day win.
