Michigan Tech trailed for only five minutes in a low scoring defensive affair at Davenport. The Huskies opened the scoring with a 43-yard Avery Kucharski field goal just five minutes into the game. By that time, both teams had already exchanged turnovers, with an interception on the first two drives of the game. Davenport took their only lead of the day mid-way through the first quarter after a scoring drive that covered just 13 yards. The field position was set up by a 74 yard kickoff return by George Sims. The Huskies would regain the lead late in the first quarter after a punt block set up a short field. The Huskies would not trail for the remainder of the game. Neither offense excelled, with the Huskies posting just 218 total yards and Davenport just 186.
