Univeristy of Texas Permian Basin head coach Kris McCullough has announced his departure to accept a head coaching opportunity in Division I. McCulloug has accepted the head coaching position at Gardner-Webb Univeristy in Boiling Springs, North Carolina. McCullough coached the Falcons for three seasons and compiled an overall record of 28-10 and an LSC record of 21-5. The Falcons win the Lone Star Conference with a perfect 8-0 record in 2023. The program secured its first ever NCAA playoff bid that same season. This past fall, the Falcons won 11 games, a new program record, and advanced to the national quarterfinals in the Division II playoffs.
Assistant head coach Mike Babcock has been appointed interim head coach while a search for the next head coach begins. Babcock spent 11 seasons as head coach at McKendree and compiled a record of 58-52.
