The first Saturday of the Division II season will deliver the most anticipated out of conference matchup of the entire year. In the season opener for both teams, No. 3 Ferris State will travel to No. 4 Pittsburg State in a Saturday night showdown. The Gorillas, national champions in 1991 and 2011, are the defending co-champions of the MIAA. The Bulldogs, national champions in 2021 and 2023, are the preseason favorites to win the GLIAC championship. The MIAA v. GLIAC titlt will kickoff in front of an expected full house at Pitt State's Carney Smith Stadium at 7pm, Central on Saturday night. The game can watched live from anywhere in the country via the MIAA Network. A single-game purchase of season-long MIAA pass subscription is required. KMCI, 38 The Spot will televise the game locally in the Kansas City Metropolitan area
