Week Eight is coming up in the PSAC and three PSAC teams are ranked in this week’s D2 Football Top 25 which was released on Monday. #4 Kutztown (7-0) remains in the same spot that they have been in since the preseason. #8 Slippery Rock (7-0) remained the same as well this week. #22 East Stroudsburg (6-1) joins the D2 Top 25 this week for the first time in 2026. The Warriors’ only loss is to Slippery Rock back on September 12th. They play Kutztown in two weeks on Halloween. IUP (5-2), who lost to Slippery Rock last week, and Shepherd (5-2), who lost to Bloomsburg last week, both dropped out of the D2 Top 25 this week.
The first NCAA D2 NPI Rankings, which will be used to determine playoff teams at the end of the regular season, also came out this week. In Super Region One, Slippery Rock (7-0) was ranked number one (also ranked number one overall out of all four Super Regions), Kutztown (6-0) number two (ranked number eight overall out of all four Super Regions), East Stroudsburg (5-1) number three, and IUP (5-2) number six, giving the PSAC four teams in the Top 10. Here are the rest of the top teams currently in Super Region One: In the MEC, West Liberty (6-1). In the CIAA, Virginia State (7-0) Virginia Union (6-1), and Jonson C. Smith (6-1). In the NE10, Franklin Pierce (4-0), and Assumption (4-2).
There were many changes in my PSAC Power Ranking (PPR) after the Week Seven games were played. Reminder, the way my PPR works is that #1 would beat every other team if they played them in a game this week. #2 would beat #3 on down and so on. Here is my PPR heading into Week Eight action:
