Week Seven is here as the 75th Anniversary for the PSAC continues. #3 Kutztown (6-0, 3-0 PSAC East) is the only team remaining in the PSAC with an overall undefeated record and the only team from the conference currently ranked in the D2 Top 25. The Golden Bears have the number one ranked scoring offense (43.8 PPG) and the number one scoring defense (6.3 PPG) in the PSAC. Kutztown’s scoring differential, obviously, is also first in the PSAC (+37.5 PPG). IUP (4-1, 2-0 PSAC West) is currently second in the PSAC in scoring offense (39.2 PPG) and they also second in scoring defense (14.4 PPG) making the Crimson Hawks second in the conference in scoring differential (+24.8 PPG). In my PSAC Game of the Week, IUP travels to Slippery Rock (4-2, 1-2 PSAC West). Slippery Rock is currently fourth in scoring offense (37.2 PPG) and third in scoring defense (21.8 PPG) and currently ranks third in scoring differential (+15.4 PPG) in the PSAC. Both teams are bringing very capable defenses into this week’s game. We will see which offense prevails in putting up more points. IUP’s quarterback Matthew Rueve leads the number one passing offense in the PSAC and is the statistical leader in the conference in completion percentage (76.1%), passing yards with 1,608, averaging 209.8 yards per game, and touchdown passes with 18. Rueve has a dynamic duo of receivers to throw to. Wide receiver Maurice Massey leads the PSAC averaging 94 yards per game receiving with six touchdown receptions and wide receiver Devin Whitlock is currently fourth in the conference averaging 81.2 receiving yards per game with two touchdowns. Slippery Rock running back JayJay Jordan leads the PSAC in rushing with 892 yards on the ground averaging 9.2 yards per carry and 148.7 yards per game. Jordan has seven rushing touchdowns on the season. Also worth noting, in addition to the three teams mentioned above, is that East Stroudsburg is currently fourth in the PSAC in scoring differential (+14.6 PPG). The Warriors are fifth in the PSAC in scoring offense (36.8 PPG) and fourth in scoring defense (22.2 PPG).
