PSAC Week Seven Preview

Week Seven is coming up as we head into the secod half of the seson in the PSAC. Four PSAC teams are ranked in this week’s D2 Football Top 25 which was released on Monday. #4 Kutztown (6-0) remains in the same spot that they have been in since the preseason. #8 Slippery Rock (6-0) moved up one spot from last week and #23 IUP (5-1) slid ten spots from last week after losing 35-20 to Lock Haven. #24 Shepherd (5-1) has reentered the Top 25 for the second time in 2026. Their only loss this season is to #4 Kutztown.

Heading into this Saturday, Slippery Rock leads the PSAC in scoring averaging 53.8 points per game and Kutztown leads the conference in scoring defense averaging only giving up 15.7 points per game. They are tied for first in the PSAC in Scoring Differential (average points scored per game - average points given up per game) at + 30.8. East Stroudsburg is third at +15.5 and Shepherd is fourth at +13. Slippery Rock running back Jay Jay Jordan leads the PSAC in rushing averaging 139.2 yards per game, with 16 touchdowns, and Shepherd’s Ian Mauldin is second averaging 97 yards per game. He has five touchdowns. The top three passers in average yards per game are all from the PSAC West. Clarion’s Jase Ferguson leads the PSAC averaging 265.5 yards per outing. There was movement again in my PSAC Power Ranking (PPR), between numbers four and 15, after Week Six. Reminder, the way my PPR works is that #1 would beat every other team if they played them in a game this week. #2 would beat #3 on down and so on. My PPR can change week to week, and it usually does. Here is my PPR heading into Week Seven action:

Taking A Look Ahead

Based upon how things have played out so far this season, and the potential impact on the PSAC Championship Game and/or Super One playoff spots, here are four games to have on your radar in the coming weeks:

10/24/26      #24 Shepherd at East Stroudsburg

10/24/26      Lock Haven at #8 Slippery Rock

10/31/26      #4 Kutztown at East Stroudsburg

11/14/26      #24 Shepherd at #23 IUP (if neither team in in the PSAC Championship Game in Week Eleven, a Crossover Week with all the games being played in the PSAC West this season).
