Week Six is coming up and we are heading into midseason divisional play in the PSAC East and PSAC West. Three PSAC teams continue to be ranked in the D2 Football Top 25 released on Monday. All three of the teams remain in their same ranking as last week. #4 Kutztown remains in the same spot that they have been in since the preseason. #9 Slippery Rock and #13 IUP held steady heading into this week’s action.
There was movement again in my PSAC Power Ranking (PPR), between numbers five and 13, after how things played out in Week Five’s games. Reminder, the way my PPR works is that #1 would beat every other team if they played them in a game this week. #2 would beat #3 on down and so on. My PPR can change week to week, and it usually does. Here is my PPR heading into Week Six action:
PSAC Power Ranking (PPR)
NR Lackawanna (0-5, Future PSAC East Member)
Taking a look around Super Region One, as we head into mid-season, here are some of the top teams so far in 2026 in addition to the top six PSAC teams in my PPR above. In the NE10, Assumption (3-2, 2-0 NE10), a SR1 playoff team from a year ago, who lost to Kutztown in their opener but also beat Bentley last week in conference play, seems to be the early pack leader. Also in the mix from the NE10 are Franklin Pierce (3-1, 2-0 NE 10), Southern Connecticut (3-1, 2-0 NE10), and Pace (3-2, 2-0 NE10). In the CIAA, three teams are still undefeated in Conference play, Virginia State (5-1, 4-0 CIAA), Virginia Union (5-1, 4-0 CIAA) and Johnson C. Smith (4-1, 3-0 CIAA). In the MEC, West Liberty (5-1, 3-0 MEC) is out in front. The Hilltoppers have a bye this week. Charleston (2-3, 2-0 MEC) is undefeated in conference play and they host Wheeling (3-2, 2-1 MEC) on Saturday .
Here is the Week Six PSAC schedule and my prediction for each game. New this week, in addition to providing each team’s result from last week, I have also added each teams Scoring Differential (average points scored per game – average score given up per game) for the season so far and where that SD number ranks in the PSAC. I was 6 out of 8 in my predictions for Week Five. Currently, I am 40 out of 47 (85%) on my predictions so far in 2026 for games that include a team from the PSAC.
Saturday 10/10/26 – PSAC East
Shippensburg (1-4, 0-2 PSAC East) at Millersville (0-5, 0-2 PSAC East) – 12 Noon
Last Week, Shippensburg lost to Kutztown 59-7 and Millersville lost to Shepherd 35-7.
Scoring Differential: #13 Shippensburg (-10.8 PPG) / #15 Millersville (-23 PPG)
My Prediction: Shippensburg– The Raiders win this one on the road.
Lackawanna (0-5, Future PSAC East Member) at #4 Kutztown (5-0, 2-0 PSAC East) – 12 Noon
Last week, Lackawanna lost to Bloomsburg 42-10 and Kutztown beat Shippensburg 59-7.
Scoring Differential: #2 Kutztown (+ 25.8 PPG) / NR Lackawanna (-29.4 PPG)
My Prediction: #4 Kutztown – The Golden Bears win big in this non-divisional game at home in Andre Reed Stadium.

East Stroudsburg (4-1, 1-0 PSAC East) at Bloomsburg (4-1, 1-0 PSAC East) – 6 PM
Last Week, East Stroudsburg beat West Chester 27-13 and Bloomsburg beat Lackawanna 42-10.
Scoring Differential: #T5 East Stroudburg (+ 11.8 PPG) / #T5 Bloomsburg (+11.8 PPG)
My Prediction: East Stroudsburg – The Warriors edge the Huskies in a close one.
Shepherd (4-1, 1-1 PSAC East) at West Chester (3-2, 1-1 PSAC East) – 6 PM
Last week, Shepherd beat Millersville 35 -7 and West Chester lost to East Stroudsburg 27-13.
Scoring Differential: #3 Shepherd (+12.8 PPG) / #8 West Chester (+1.8 PPG)
My Prediction: Shepherd – The Rams beat the Golden Rams on the road.
Saturday 10/10/26 – PSAC West
Edinboro (2-3, 0-2 PSAC West) at California (PA) (2-3, 0-2 PSAC West) – 1 PM
Last week, Edinboro lost to IUP 46-44 (2OT) and California (PA) lost to Seton Hill 29-0.
Scoring Differential: #12 Edinboro (-5.6 PPG) / #11 California (PA) (-3.4 PPG)
My Prediction: Edinboro – The Fighting Scots take care of business on the road.
Lock Haven (3-2, 2-0 PSAC West) at #13 IUP (5-0, 2-0 PSAC West) -2 PM
Last week, Lock Haven beat Clarion 38-35 and IUP beat Edinboro 46-44 (2OT).
Scoring Differential: #10 Lock Haven (-0.2 PPG) / #7 IUP (+9.6 PPG)
My Prediction: #13 IUP – The Crimson Hawks prevail at home.
Gannon (0-5, 0-2 PSAC West) at Clarion (3-2, 1-1 PSAC West) – 2 PM
Last week, Gannon lost to Slippery Rock 49-10 and Clarion lost to Lock Haven 38-35.
Scoring Differential: #14 Gannon (-16.8 PPG) / #4 Clarion (+12.2 PPG)
My Prediction: Clarion – The Golden Eagles get back in the win column this week.
Seton Hill (2-3, 1-1 PSAC West) at #9 Slippery Rock (5-0, 2-0 PSAC West) – 6 PM
Last Week, Seton Hill beat California (PA) 29-0 and Slippery Rock beat Gannon 49-10.
Scoring Differential: #9 Seton Hill (+0 PPG) / #1 Slippery Rock (+28 PPG)
My Prediction: #9 Slippery Rock – The Rock cranks it up when the sun goes down and the lights come on at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.
