PSAC Week Three Preview

Week Three is here and we have an all-Saturday schedule coming up as PSAC Crossover Games continue. Three PSAC teams currently remain ranked in the D2 Football Top 25, which was released on Monday. Heading into this week’s action, #4 Kutztown remains in the same spot as last week as well as #14 Slippery Rock. #18 IUP moved up one spot this week. Shepherd joins #4 Kutztown as the only other undefeated team in the PSAC East. California (PA) and Edinboro join #14 Slippery Rock and #18 IUP in the ranks of the unbeaten in the PSAC West. We have two teams still looking for their first win of the season, Millersville in the East and Gannon in the West.

Taking a look at some stats here early in the season, Slippery Rock, at 52, and Kutztown, at 50.5, have the highest average points scored per game so far in 2026. From the PSAC West, Slippery Rock running back, Jay Jay Jordan leads all of the PSAC in rushing averaging 125 yards per game. Declan Clancy from Bloomsburg in the East is second with an average of 107.5 yards per game. In the passing game, from the West, California (PA) quarterback Eric Gibson Jr is throwing for 298.5 yards per game, along with eight touchdowns, to lead the PSAC. Second in the conference, from Kutztown in the East, Judd Novak is throwing for 262 yards per game with six touchdowns. Shippensburg LB Alex Sauve leads all of the PSAC in tackles averaging 12 per game. He also has recorded one sack and averages 2.75 tackles for loss per game. After his performance in Week Two, Sauve was named D2 Football’s National Defensive Player of the Week.

There were a few one spot moves in my PSAC Power Ranking (PPR) after Week Two’s games and heading into Week Three. For those new to following along, this is how it works: I predict that #1 would beat any other team in the week coming up, # 2 would beat #3 on down, etc., and it can, and usually does, change week to week based upon who is taking care of business, who is trending upwards, and who is headed in the wrong direction. That said, here is my PPR heading into Week Three:
