Week 1 Recap Not the best week for the LSC, as the conference went 4-5 in non-conference games. This was particularly true if you were playing an RMAC team.

Opening Week Recap Week 0 is over, and what do we have? LSC teams went 2-1 against the MIAA (including 2-0 against nationally-ranked MIAA teams!)LSC teams went 2-2 against the RMACThe LSC was competitive in all their matchups into the second halves of their games…against Division 2 teams.

LSC Opening Week Preview Class is back in session, and so is football. As seems to be the case every year, there’s all sorts of time spent waiting and waiting and waiting for the season to start, and then it’s time for the season and it feels like it’s too soon for that to happen.

2025 Lone Star Conference Season PreviewLast we saw the LSC on the football field, Angelo State and Central Washington were on the losing end in first-round playoff games and Texas-Permian Basin fell in overtime to Zach Zebrowski’s last great moment with Central Missouri. But optimism can be endless when coaches and players take to the field for Spring and Summer practices and scrimmages, whether that optimism is justified or not.

LSC 2024 End of Season Recap The 2024 LSC season ended with a thud as both the conference’s playoff teams lost in the first round of the Super Region 1 playoffs, ending the LSC’s multiple-year run of placing a team in the Super Region 4 Final. And while Texas-Permian Basin held down the now two-time Harlon Hill Trophy winner Zach Zebrowski of Central Missouri for three quarters, they ran out of gas in the in the fourth and lost the Heritage Bowl in two overtimes.

Week 10 Recap ANGELO STATE LSC CHAMPIONSAngelo State earned their second outright LSC championship in the last three seasons with a 38-16 win over an undermanned Western Oregon team that gave it everything they could, but unfortunately there were too many injuries in key positions to keep the Wolves close the whole way. Elsewhere, Texas A&M-Kingsville earned a winning record for the 2024 season by holding off a Western New Mexico fourth-quarter comeback attempt.

Week 9 RecapSometimes it can really be the little things, the things you least expect to go wrong, that end up being the very things that keep you out of the playoffs. For Central Washington, two missed extra points are the difference between a possible undefeated LSC record and the two LSC losses they currently have.

Week 8 Recap The two possible trap games that could have prevented our LSC Clash of the Titans both went without a hitch, although a slow start by Angelo State did have me switch on the Upset Alert momentarily. Central Washington and Angelo State both won going away, with CWU taking advantage of 3 Tanner Volk interceptions to beat Midwestern State and ASU scoring the final 43 points of the game to run away from Sul Ross State.

Week 7 Recap Road teams took 4 of the 5 games in Week 7, with Sul Ross State, who made history with their first LSC conference win since the 1975 season and first win over a Division 2 opponent as a Division 2 program, being the only home team to win. Also, from Week 7:

Week 6 Recap We are entering the time of year where teams whose hopes have them going past the regular season’s final week begin to get a little nervous. In some cases, just one loss to anyone could be the difference between a playoff berth and a long winter home.
