Ryan Gladwin earned a degree from Carson-Newman University in 2011. Currently employed in the collegiate retail business, Ryan lives in Tennessee with his wife and two kids.
In his spare time, Ryan enjoys traveling to random minor league baseball games, card and baseball hat collecting, spending time with his family, and being let down by his Buffalo Bills every season.

Friday night begins the 50th season of SAC football, with an absolute banger to kick things off. I love these elite early season matchups and seeing two of the best programs in our region over the past decade start things off down in gorgeous Pensacola, Florida is awesome.

One of the big storylines going into the 2024 SAC football season was about three quarters of the programs in the conference had new head coaches. Only one change took place this year, but the story heading into the South Atlantic Conference's 50th season of competition is about new faces replacing big name players that made waves across the league and overall landscape.

Last weekend was one of the best opening rounds of D2 football playoff action I’ve seen since my freshman year at Carson-Newman in 2007. As I shared on social media, the average margin of victory was just 8.8 points (would’ve been 5.5 if you took out the beatdown Harding laid on Pittsburg State).

We are already in week five of the 2024 season, nearing the halfway mark. There were a couple of scheduling changes made this week, and I imagine there will be some more down the line as many areas within the league were terribly affected by hurricane Helene.

Week three and opening weekend in the SAC brought some outstanding football and gives week four something to live up to. More important than football, as week four gets ready to kick off, is the severe weather hitting the southeastern US right now from Hurricane Helene.
