Timberwolves Earn Road win at Findlay

INSIDE THE GAME

Northwood got the opening kickoff and drove right down field. NU went 75 yards in 10 plays, capped by a Trent Hill eight-yard touchdown rush to make the score 7-0.
Findlay responded with a 32-yard field goal on their opening drive to make the score 7-3.
The Timberwolves put together another 75-yard drive on their second possession of the game. This drive took 11 plays and was capped by a Ethan Hamby three-yard touchdown run to make the score 14-3.
Neither team scored in the second quarter, sending the game to the break at 14-3.
A key play in the game came on the kickoff to open the second half. Dom Taylor recovered a fumble for the Timberwolves, giving Northwood the ball at the Findlay 30-yard line.
Six plays later, Hamby found Hill for a two-yard touchdown pass that put the Timberwolves on top 21-3.
With 3:52 remaining in the third, Northwood expanded their lead on a fourth and seven from the Findlay 31. Hamby found a wide-open Carter Minix for a touchdown that expanded the NU lead to 27-3.
A fortunate deflection got the Oilers back on the board in the final moments of the third quarter. A pass that was intended for one receiver was deflected by a Northwood defender into the hands of UF's Khilee White, who took the pass for a 23-yard touchdown. White also caught the two-point conversion pass, getting UF with two scores at 27-11 heading to the fourth.
Northwood responded to the Oiler touchdown with their most time-consuming scoring drive of the day. The Timberwolves covered 71 yards in 13 plays, taking 6:43 off the clock. Hamby tossed his third TD pass of the day, this time to Tony Simmons from eight-yards out to make the score 34-11.
After getting a stop on defense, the Timberwolves got the ball back with 6:51 remaining. Northwood earned three first downs on the drive to run out the clock and earn the victory.

NORTHWOOD NOTES

Hamby earned another program record in the win, now standing with 38 career touchdown passes. The old record of 36 was set by Sleepie Tollie, who played at Northwood from 1997-2000. Hamby now owns every passing record at Northwood except career passing yards, where is trails Tollie by 223 yards (4,578-4,345).
Hamby's 90.3 completion percentage in the game is the third best in the history of the G-MAC. Hamby now owns two of the top three marks, as he holds the league record at 95.2 percent (20-21) from Northwood's win over Lake Erie October 11, 2025.
The win against the ninth-ranked Oilers is Northwood's first win against a AFCA Top-25 team since September 30, 2006, when NU defeated No. 12 Saginaw Valley 25-14.
Findlay is the highest ranked team Northwood has beaten since the opening game of the 2004 season. NU downed No. 5 SVSU 24-21 August 28, 2004.
Northwood dominated the final quarter of the game, outgaining Findlay 90 to -4. NU held the ball for 13:34 of the fourth compared to 1:16 for the Oilers. The Timberwolves ran 23 plays in the final period while Findlay ran three.
