Look for programs from both leagues to continue to make noise in the national rankings as Super Region 2 continues to take shape.

We are almost back to a full schedule this week - West Alabama’s game against Lincoln (Calif.) was unsurprisingly cancelled - including three Conference Carolinas matchups and a non-conference tilt between two perennial playoff teams looking to right a few early-season wrongs. It may look like a lopsided affair in many of these matchups, but rest assured there will still be plenty of opportunity for fireworks out of Super Region 2.

Things are rolling now for both Conference Carolinas and the Gulf South Conference as we move into Week 4. Three teams are on a bye this week, so the schedule features just four total contests but the slate will be full of excitement as UNC Pembroke squares off on the road against Valdosta State and North Greenville hosts No.

North Greenville opened Conference Carolinas play with a win last weekend, as we saw the first League football game in 51 years take place on the field. UNC Pembroke made national noise with an upset over previously ranked Delta State, and West Alabama and West Florida continued to beat up on the competition with statement wins at home.

The time has finally come to decide the 2024 Division II National Champion and it will once again be a matchup between Ferris State and Valdosta State. For the third time since 2018, the Bulldogs and Blazers will square off for the crown, this time at McKinney ISD Stadium in McKinney, Texas.

Another week, another seemingly effortless win for Valdosta State in the 2024 postseason. Last week, the Blazers were again dominant on both sides of the ball and flexed their muscle as the top team in Super Region 2 - and quite possibly the country - with a 35-point win at home.

It seemed as though Valdosta State was in cruise control during last week’s win over Miles, riding a superior roster to victory despite surrendering 14 fourth quarter points. This week, the Blazers take on a Virginia Union squad that has gotten hot at the right time and seems to be firing on all cylinders.

Just two weeks remain in the regular season and three teams are vying for the Gulf South crown and a shot at the postseason. The first Super Region 2 rankings were released this week, putting West Alabama (2) and Valdosta State (3) comfortably in the mix - for now - while West Florida (10) was the last team to be mentioned with an outside path to the playoffs.

We have three weeks left in the regular season and the Gulf South title race may go down to the wire. Currently, four teams are within striking distance of claiming at least a share of the League crown - Valdosta State, West Alabama, West Florida, and North Greenville - making this week’s matchup between the Trailblazers and Tigers all that more important to keep one of those programs in the hunt.
