Lackawanna College is on course to become a Division II institution during the 2026 / 2027 academic year. Once officially accepted in Division II, the program will be a full member of the PSAC. The institution is transitioning from junior college athletics to the four-year NCAA Division II model. The Football program will be included in the 2026 PSAC football schedule but the program will not be an official Division II member at the open of the 2026 season. Confirmation of the school's acceptance to D2 is expected in fall 2026 or winter, 2027.
